Ed Chan is the Executive Vice President and CIO of Crown Castle. He is responsible for the technology and IT strategy, digital business transformation, enterprise security and business operations support. Ed spent over three decades of his career at Verizon, where he most recently served as SVP and Chief Technology Officer since March 2022. In this role, he was responsible for the technology strategy, product development, network planning, capital planning, and systems & maintenance engineering of the Verizon products and networks. Mr. Chan previously served as the company’s Chief Network Engineering Officer since December 2018 and in various roles of increasing responsibly across technology architecture; infrastructure planning; network implementation and operations. Earlier in his career, Ed served as a product and technology development engineer. Mr. Chan holds an BS in electrical engineering from Rutgers University and an MSE in Management of Technology from the University of Pennsylvania.
