Bill Davenport
Senior Director, Government Affairs
Bill Davenport is Senior Director, Government Affairs, at Cisco Systems, Inc. In this role, Bill is responsible for advising and representing the company on a wide range of communications issues, including spectrum policy. Prior to joining Cisco in May 2022, Bill worked at the Federal Communications Commission as Chief of Staff and Senior Legal Advisor to Commissioner Geoffrey Starks, where he oversaw the office's operations and advised the Commissioner on wireless and international issues. Bill also has served in senior leadership positions throughout the FCC's Enforcement Bureau, most recently as the manager responsible for spectrum enforcement investigations. In addition to his FCC experience, Bill also has worked as a senior executive at a satellite company as well as an associate at two major law firms.
Bob Everson
Senior Director, 5G Architecture
Bob Everson is the Senior Director - 5G Architecture for Cisco Systems; leading strategy, architecture, technology, and systems development. In this role he is responsible for defining and developing mobile network solutions across both the service provider and enterprise domains.
Bob’s experience spans diverse areas including early work in large-scale IP networking and massive-scale data center architectures, to more recent focus on secure software-defined mobile networks, 5G systems and applications, and Open Virtual RAN systems.
Darin Kaufman
Technology Director, 5G
With over 20 years of experience within international wired and wireless businesses, Darin is helping Cisco’s Mobility and Cable business create next generation offers to power the 5G revolution. He has held senior management positions within Sprint, Ericsson and T-Mobile before joining Cisco in 2021. Most recently, Darin helped lead the mobile network integration between Sprint and T-Mobile as well as planning and execution of the first, nationwide 5G SA launch in the US.

Sam Samuel
Director, Emerging Technologies & Incubation
Louis “Sam” Samuel joined Cisco in April 2013 and is currently a Director in Cisco’s Emerging Technologies and Incubation Group. Since joining Cisco, Sam has had responsibility for 5G technology evolution, which covered a wide range of areas such as: virtualization and orchestration of its mobility products, autonomic management of cellular networks (via the application of SON technologies), policy and small cell technology evolution and the application of 5G to enterprises and verticals. Sam is currently investigating, among others, the long-term effects of pandemics on technology accessibility, 6G, privacy and trust in future internet and Quantum Networking.
