5G Americas supports studying 7.125 GHz – 15.35 GHz at the World Radiocommunication Conference

On April 12, 2023, the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) Office of International Affairs requested public comment on the recommendations approved by the Commission’s Advisory Committee (the “WAC”) for the upcoming 2023 World Radiocommunication Conference in November and December 2023 (“WRC-23”). In addition, the FCC also reviewed draft proposals provided to the Commission by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (“NTIA”).

5G Americas thanks the FCC for requesting public comment and advises them to support View A, as presented to the April 11th WAC, as well as a WRC agenda item for International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT) to study the 7.125 – 15.35 GHz spectrum band.

The United States must continue to be a leader on broadband policy and wireless innovation, and this band is crucial to continued U.S. growth and leadership on 6G.
