On March 11, 2024, US Senators Ted Cruz and John Thune introduced a bill in the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation that seeks to expand access to commercial wireless spectrum.
In response, 5G Americas issues the following statement:
“5G Americas welcomes the introduction of the Spectrum Pipeline Act by Senators Cruz and Thune. 5G Americas is encouraged by legislative efforts to renew the FCC auction authority and to enhance commercial access to spectrum, crucial for the advancement and deployment of 5G technologies across the United States. It is critical for the U.S. wireless and technological leadership for the US government to identify and reallocate spectrum for both federal and non-federal uses.”
