5G Americas commends FCC policy regarding receiver interference immunity

On April 20, 2023, the United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC) adopted a policy statement to promote a balanced and comprehensive approach to spectrum management that holistically considers both the transmitter and receiver components of wireless systems.

Based on feedback from government entities, industry, and public interest groups, the statement addresses three key areas of interference realities, shared responsibilities, and data-driven regulatory approaches to promote co-existence.

5G Americas has the following statement:

“5G Americas commends the FCC on pursuing a reasonable policy to urge designers and owners of both transmitters and receivers to mitigate interference from outside their assigned frequencies. More efficient use of spectrum will support the introduction of new and innovative wireless services.”

Chris Pearson, President, 5G Americas
