What innovations are on the horizon in the evolution of mobile broadband technology to LTE-Advanced?

Mobile Broadband demand is at an all-time high, with some operators reporting a doubling of data traffic each of the last five years, and expectations that mobile data traffic will grow 30-fold over the next few years, and 100-fold over the next 10 years. As more smart devices are penetrating the market, enabling users to try to satiate their hunger for advanced services and applications, we are reaching a point of network saturation. 4G Americas projects that with "business as usual" in the U.S., the spectrum crisis will be realized by 2015.

3GPP technologies have evolved in the roadmap from 2G GSM, to 3G HSPA, to HSPA+ and LTE mobile broadband and soon to LTE-Advanced, in order to provide increased capacity and improved user experience.

Drawing from the new 4G Americas report on this topic, this webinar will explain the evolution of the 3GPP LTE standards in Release 10, Release 11 and beyond, and explore technical innovations and their benefits, such as small cell optimizations (eICIC), MIMO enhancements, Coordinated Multi-Point (CoMP) and Carrier Aggregation, with insights into how the industry is working to implement features of LTE-Advanced in 2013 and beyond.
