BELLEVUE, Wash. – May 18, 2015 – 4G Americas, a wireless trade association representing the 3GPP family of technologies, including LTE-Advanced and beyond to 5G, will be presenting a FierceLive! Webinar on The Future of 5G in the Americas on Thursday, June 4 at 12:00 p.m. EDT / 9:00 a.m. PDT.
The webinar, moderated by Sue Marek, Editor-in-chief of FierceWireless, will sort through the 5G buzz infiltrating the wireless industry worldwide. It has become apparent that 5G is no longer an idea, but rather a moving piece of the puzzle that will illustrate the future of mobile broadband technology in 2020 and beyond. The concept of 5G has ignited significant industry activity, exemplified by 5G recommendations by 4G Americas and NGMN, as well as the Memorandum of Understanding signed between 4G Americas and 5G PPP at this year’s Mobile World Congress. However, as 5G continues to gain traction in the wireless landscape, many aspects remain unresolved; therefore, 4G Americas continues to work on the various elements of 5G for the Americas region and is offering a free webinar detailing the future of this evolutionary technology.
4G Americas President, Chris Pearson, will be joined by two 5G industry experts and co-leaders in 4G Americas’ 5G Work Group; Brian Daly, Director, Core Network & Government/Regulatory Standards at AT&T and Anders Svensson, Head of 4G Solutions/Principal Solution Manager at Ericsson will discuss the key issues relevant to our 5G future as we create the mobile broadband world for 2020 and beyond. Specific topics will include access technologies, spectrum considerations and the orchestration of the Internet of Things. Information presented in the webinar is based on the important recommendations found in the white paper, 4G Americas' Recommendations on 5G Requirements and Solutions, which is available for free download at www.4gamericas.org. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A.
