Frankfurt, Germany – June 16 2014
The Next Generation Mobile Networks (NGMN) Alliance presented end-to-end requirements for 5G at its NGMN Forum meeting in June. Leading global Operator, Vendor and Research representatives gathered to review the initial results of the Alliance’s 5G initiative and to give guidance on the way forward. Earlier this year, the NGMN Board – CTOs from 20 leading international operators – had made the decision to focus the future NGMN activities on defining the end-to-end requirements for 5G in an industry White Paper. A unique, global initiative with a team of more than 100 experts is now working on the definition of these consolidated operator requirements intended to support the standardisation and subsequent availability of 5G from 2020.
